Special Education Teacher - Cornville $2000 Sign On Bonus!

The successful candidate will provide pre-vocational opportunities, teach functional academics and be able to differentiate instruction for students with severe emotional, behavioral and developmental challenges, with a focus on teaching functional academics, activities of daily living, and pre-vocational skills. Spurwink Special Education Teachers develop and implement Individualized Educational Plans in a therapeutic milieu, and supervise educational technicians among other duties. The candidate must have or be eligible for a Maine DOE 282 certification and have excellent behavior management skills.
$2000 sign on bonus
Many positions include sign on bonuses that are available to full-time newly hired staff. The first half of the sign on bonus ($1000) will be paid after 90 days of full-time employment and the second half of the sign on bonus ($1000) will be paid after six months of full time employment. If a new hire changes status to either part-time or per diem status during any of that timeframe, they will forfeit the sign on bonus that is yet to be paid.
Special Education Teachers plan and prepare for the classroom and develop and monitor IEP goals and objectives. Special Education Teachers also create an environment of respect and rapport, establish a culture for learning, manage classroom procedures and materials, supervise Ed Techs, manage student behavior, and organize physical space.They will engage students in learning, and provide feedback to students and families.
Maine State certification as Teacher of Exceptional Students (282) or Teacher of Students with Severe Intellectual and Associated Impairments (286), as appropriate to the position and age level of students or eligibility for conditional certification as a special education teacher.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
