Who could ask for anything more? We are currently looking to add a Palletizer.
The right candidate will be open to learning new tasks and developing new skills.
The Palletizing position will be responsible to help keep the Gifford's product at a high standard of quality everyday.
To keep accurate counts of product in inventory as needed.
To palletize product neatly and minimize product damages.
To recognize problems in the palletizing room and maintain a neat, clean work area by adhering to Food Safety Standards.
Responsibilities:
Palletize finished product as needed and inform supervisor of equipment malfunctions that need to be addressed.
Observe packages moving along conveyors to identify packages, detect defective packaging, and perform quality control.
Read production and delivery schedules, and confer with supervisors, to determine sorting and transfer procedures, arrangement of packages on pallets, and destinations of loaded pallets.
Record numbers of units handled or moved using daily production sheets.
Re-pack damaged containers.
Help get ingredients or containers for production as needed.
Help take care of candies, containers, etc.
during rinse outs or shutdowns.
Cut cardboard for palletizing purposes.
Sweep and clean palletizing area as needed and remove and take care of rubbish as needed.
The ideal candidate will:
High School Diploma preferred Experience Driving a forklift preferred Experience using a pallet jack preferred Must have reliable transportation Work Environment:
Job is performed in a freezer--will be required to withstand time inside of a freezer to -20 Fahrenheit Fluorescent lighting used in doors Work load is fast paced Non-slip shoes required The position uses standard warehouse equipment such as hand jacks, box cutters, tape dispensers, and markers.
